Howard started in 1965 with the family business, Prairie Fire in Moose Jaw and began a career in the fire service business. Selling his first fire truck in 1967, Howard has been selling them ever since. Over the years he has represented LaFrance Foamite, Saskatoon Fire Engine, Thibault, Superior/E-One, and now Rosenbauer, in Western Canada. Moving to Alberta in 1998 to partner with Harvey Dussault in Phoenix Emergency Vehicles, then merging with Rocky Mountain Fire and Safety in 2004, to form Rocky Mountain Phoenix.
